It is the greatest way to end the summer, hands down.  Located in one of the most gorgeous spots in the United States, Telluride rests in a box canyon at 8,750 feet, surrounded by dramatic walls of mountain. 

There are some serious blues coming to the 15th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, which will be held September 12-14, 2008, with Sunday headliner Etta James and the Roots Band.  Leading up to her are three days packed with some the world’s best blues, from Joan Osborne, Back Door Slam, Gov’t Mule, John Hiatt, Susan Tedeschi, Canned Heat, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band…..oh, ah, ugh!   

Don’t worry about overloading, though.  At the same time as all this amazing music is going on, you can pace yourself with some delicious beer.  Then there’s the Grand Tasting on Saturday, with more then 150 different beers from 56 microbreweries…FREE TO TICKETHOLDERS.  Yes.  You walk onto the grounds, they hand you a glass, and you have three hours to taste as many different beers as you can.  By the 2nd hour, people speak in wonderful new languages.  It’s like a religious experience, but with better music!
